    1. The only other calling I ever felt was an irrepressible desire to be Captain of my own Starship I was born in the wrong century and it wasn t possible, so I chose to explore the universe by writing fiction instead Books are doors to endless adventure KMMKaren Marie Moning is the 1 NYT bestselling author of the Fever Series and Highlander novels. An alum of the Immaculate Conception Academy, at seventeen she attended Purdue University where she completed a BA in Society Law, with minors in Philosophy, Creative Writing and Theatre, while working full time as a bartender and computer consultant She intended to go to law school but after an internship with a firm of Criminal Attorneys, decided against it For the next decade, she worked in insurance, where she wrote intercompany arbitrations and directed commercial litigation At the age of thirty, she decided it was time to get serious and do what she d always wanted to do write fiction novels.Beyond the Highland Mist was published in 1999 and nominated for two RITA awards She then published six novels in her award winning HIGHLANDER series, and received the RITA Award in 2001 for The Highlander s Touch. In 2004, she began writing the 1 New York Times bestselling FEVER series The books have been optioned twice for potential franchise development by Twentieth Century Fox and DreamWorks Studios, but the rights are currently held by Moning who has expressed a desire to one day see it as a television series Her novels have been published in over thirty countries She divides her time between Ohio and Florida and is working on two future projects for Random House Publishing I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library Jorge Luis Borges

    2. Again just get this book with all 7 stories in, trust me! You do not want to wait and hunt down each book. Yeah, they are just that good.

    3. Okay there are serious spoilers in this review. Highlander spoilers, Fever Spoliers, you name it. It's a spoiler festival complete with elephant ears and corn dogs.So I was watching this movie one time, it had The Rock in it, so you can guess it wasn't an Oscar winner. But, it was one of those treasure hunting type movies. And to find the map, they found three pieces of a map and were having a hard time trying to see how they fit together, blah, blah, blah .Until! The Rock, the genius that he is [...]

    4. These are the sexiest books you'll ever read! Honestly, they wake a part of your Libido that you never knew slumbered! What I love about these books is not only do they make you feel 'happy', if you know what I mean, but they are such beautiful love stories! They're the type of love stories that make you want to sing and dance for love so precious, but most of all they inspire hope that no matter how long you wait and pray for your true love, you're hopes will not be in vain cause everyone finds [...]

    5. Über sexy, gloriously hot, HIGHLANDER MEN in a package that is so worth their weight in platinum.#1 Hawk finally meets a lady that he cannot coerce to his bed and this seems to ensnare his heart on levels even he did not expect to exist.#2 A secret is only a secret if one does not know about it. #3 Circenn Brodie is a man of immeasurable talent and a life span to go with it. #4 Highland laird Drustan MacKeltar took the ultimate sleep of a lifetime only to awake to a beauty barely covered, Gwen [...]

    6. I read this series after theFever series. I fell in love with the historical elements and the lore elements; lest not forget some serious alpha males. The writing was well done, love scenes not cheesy & the females weren't weak. They were all pretty well predictable and insecure while still being relatively confident outwardly. Loved how the series revisited characters

    7. Just because I rated this a three, doesn't mean I didn't enjoy every guilty minute. I have a new understanding of my grandmother, who loved romance novels. There is a comfort and joy knowing that there will always be a happy ending, and that you [the heroine, in your imaginings] are loved above all things. Naïve utopia is certainly the path to sweet dreams. I have read the Fever series and began the Highlander series for the MacKeltar backstory. That being said, I enjoyed Adam Black's Immortal [...]

    8. I rated this as "okay" because many of the stories are very redundant. However, some of them are pretty good. Books 1- 3 are not great and don't even need to be read to follow the story line. I recommend reading books 4-7, especially if you've read the Fever series

    9. Excellent books, more into faery fiction romantic fantasy, but still historical, the author paints a great picture and pulls you into her world.

    10. I love reading her books, but why is it in every single book she writes the main characters that are women are always blond hair? She doesn't mix it up. All the men are dark hair. Come on. All the couples are the same, it's boring after awhile.

    12. After reading the Fever series by this same author, I was excited to read this one, but I was disappointed. They weren't bad books, but they were just okay for me. They all pretty much followed the same formula of early 20s virgin spunky heroine + time travel of some sort + kilt wearing alpha male + multiple erotic scenes (with some crude language) + miscellaneous mystery/thriller aspect thrown in so they aren't simply erotica. I'm no prude, but even I like a little more to my romances than thes [...]

    13. I absolutely love this series. I was first introduced to it when I randomly grabbed an audio book version of Beyond the Highland Mist from my local library when I was commuting an hour to work every day. (If you have the opportunity to listen to any of these books as audio DO IT! Phil is incredible!)After the first book I went back and borrowed another audio book and then another, not even knowing some of them repeated characters and elaborated on additional story lines. I finally bit the bullet [...]

    14. I am SO GLAD this was an option! Now, before you look at this and say, "Ew, romance novels" I must say this. I am not a fan of romance novels because I am a reader who prefers 19th century French literature above all elseunless it is Poe or Shakespeare. Yes! I adore Clockwork Orange and Catch-22 and Slaughterhouse 5 and Karen Moning! So why is a 7 book romance series on my favorites shelf? BECAUSE THEY WERE THAT GOOD! Moning webs this BEAUTIFUL, complex web through 7 books she later uses as a ba [...]

    15. I loved these books, a sucker for a love story with a hot male lead in it! Let's face it these kind of men if they did exist would probably be quite boring as you have to spend a lot of hours in the gym to get a honed body as these men seem to be gifted with. The leading ladies seem to be as God made women, full and voluptuous, think Elizabeth Taylor or Marilyn Monroe, if only women like these were fashionable nowadays. I loved that these books helped you escape from the everyday mundaneness and [...]

    16. Awesome series!I have read and re-read this series several times and always seem to come away with something I missed in the previous half a dozen reads. I think it's because things are brought up in the future books in the series, (The Fever series, and the Dani O'Malley books), and there are so many twists and turns in the storyline. Another thing I love about this series is the fact that Phil Gigante does the audio. I love his Scottish burr. This series has the whole package for me. Hunky Mac [...]

    17. Mmmm. Loved it. Just the right mix of historical and paranormal elements. So glad I got the bundle because the series improved book after book. It inspired me to read the Fever series, and I was pleased to see many of these characters reappear.

    18. 5 star series!!This is one of the best series that holds a couple of elements that I LOVE to read about in a book!!Time-travel and Highlanders!!I wasn't gonna review this right away, as I was already doing a re-read for this whole thing and since I'm a proud owner of the paperbacks of this baby I'm thinking I'd love to give a recommendations for people who are thinking of buying this bundle, and tell them, it's totally worth it.This collection allows you to forge ahead into a series that will gr [...]

    19. Ok, let me be clear. This series is straight trash (in case you couldn't deduce that from the book covers). Like, there is no literary award here other than, "The Steamy Trash" award. But if there WAS an award for steamy trash, this series would win. SOOO much better than Fifty Shades, although completely unrealistic and it takes a couple of books for the writing to get to a decent level. The best one is "Kiss of the Highlander", though I like all of the stories that involve Drustan and Daegus.

    20. A worthwhile series of booksI liked all of these stories and couldn't wait for the next one to read. I will admit that I checked out this bundle from the e-library and it ran out right in the middle of the 4th book, and there was a hold on it for two others before I could get it back. So I checked out the ebook on it's own until my turn came up again for this bundle. Totally worth it all. I like Karen's sense of humor in her writing and am always laughing at something. So go read them and the Fe [...]

    21. This was the first time I had re-read this series since having read the fever series. I totally forgot how she pretty much set up the entire fever series in these books (especially the last half of the series). You can really sense in this series where Karen is making the shift away from stand alone romance novels to the richly layered and complex world where the fever/iced series takes place. I think I might have to re-read the fever series now. As always, I adore this series and anything Karen [...]

    22. I've come to the conclusion that I have a love/hate releationship with Ms. Moning. She has opened up ny eyes to a wonderful and luscious world of highlanders, beserkers, druids, and other great stuff, I can't help but use her as a comparison to other historical highlander books. And sometimes when that happens, my thoughts on the particular book are completely turned around. Damn you KMMbut I love you ;)

    23. I can't say enough good things about these books. :) I love the way they are written. I love the characters. The only complaint is that a lot of the men look the same (long dark hair and built-to-the-hilt). Are there no blonde highlanders? Or ones that hack off their hair? Is that not a thing? I'll just re-iterate instead that I love the way these are written. It's intelligently written and even packs in some historical facts. It doesn't read like a fake world the author made up.

    24. I loved this series so much. I read this series after falling in love with the fever series and I am sad to have finished it. They are great, not to mention steamy stories which keep you captivated. I completely fell in love with Scotland through these stories. Another great read Ms Moning - you officially have another addicted fan

    25. Karen Marie Moning is the standard I hold other authors to when it comes to historical Scotland. The humanity and discipline it takes to rule their clan gives these lairds their heart. The way they treat their lasses gives these stories their soul. The faerie gives these stories danger. Don't miss them.

    26. I loved this series. It was sexy, funny original I loved the twins, and Adam the most. I thinkwell I know that my only problem was that the stories were somewhat redundant. Why do all your female leads HAVE TO be insecure virgins?!?? I was so sick of it towards the end. Idk did anyone else see that pattern?

    27. Enjoyable series.I did not like the first book in this series; however, the other books were quite enjoyable. I think the historical aspect of the stories makes this series quite enjoyable. I think that the author can work on the female characters. All in all, an enjoyable series.

    28. Read the Fever series first and it was cool to read these to understand the players. I may have to re-read that series! And I'm totally bummed about Adam Black. He would've been a PERFECT character in the Fever series.

    29. Two stars just because I found the first story kind of entertaining but I could have skipped the rest. It's the same story seven times over and over again. How ever I made it through the book is beyond me.

    30. this book was so irresistible that I wondered if a spell was cast upon mee last few stories got darker and darker. I preferred the earlier ones that had less dark magice stories were enchanting I cannot wait to read more from this author.
