    2. It was such a pleasure to read this book and see the origins of the Chess Team that we have come to know and love. Every time one of the team was introduced into the story, you feel a slight thrill at knowing where this path was going to take them. It's certainly enough to make me want to go back and read them all again. One of the benefits of this book is that you can read it first (as, chronologically, it is first), or read it after "Omega", to see where everything began (the way the books wer [...]

    3. I have been a fan of the Chess Team novels sincewas first published (in hard back even). I love this series and it was so fun to read their origin story. Why oh why is this series not being made into a movie? Update: I just read that this series is in the process of being made into a movie. Count me as a day one viewer! Next up will be(already on my kindle). I smiled once the story got around to the team going into action as The Chess Team for the first time. Oh yeah, I knew what I was in for and [...]

    4. “Prime” is the first of the Jack Sigler Chess Team adventures. In this novel we learn how the team comes together, initially through a desperate desert rescue mission and, later, through official orders. The pace is rapid, and the conflict is constructed well and is believable, as are the characters. I especially like the attitude of Jack—code name King—that is mission objectives come first, everything else is secondary, even innocent lives. Although I have never served in the military, [...]

    5. The amazing Chess Team go back to basics in this Robinson/Ellis collaboration where the reader can experience how the legendary (Delta) Delta team all came together. Before Hydra, before the living skeletons and before any of the other strange situations the Chess Team have found themselves immersed in, there is Prime: A force powerful enough to wipe out the human race, and it's up to the newly formed Team, under the reluctant leadership of King to stop it.During intense moments battling The Tria [...]

    6. It was great finally getting to know how the Chess Team was begun! Another fantastic roller coaster of a ride! This one goes through how the team first gets introduced to each other by looking for a traitor and unraveling the mystery of the Voynich Manuscript. If you haven't read the adventures of the Chess Team, you are missing out. I highly recommend this series!

    7. Jeremy Robinson's Chess Team begins here! This book delivered a good, fast-paced story-action/intrigue laden, with a good splash of sci-fi. You will be drawn to read the rest of the books, but it's an acceptable "curse"! DO IT! DO IT NOW!

    8. Prime is an excellent example of a prequel done right. An action-packed story that takes the reader through the wild ride that started everything. Readers of the other 'Chess Team' books will get a kick out it. It's also a great starting point for anyone to start the friendship with Chess Team.

    9. I'm very much a stickler for reading a series chronologically. In this case, I don't believe that was the best idea. This story does stand alone as an intro and has its merits, but the military aspects were not my preference. Of course, I haven't gone through the other novels, so I have to reserve judgment on whether this overall series is right for me. Time will tell.

    10. Good Book. This is the start of the series and the first one i have read. The story went by fast as it was half story and half setting everything up for the next novels. You have to swallow a couple of crazy things but all in all a great read. Will def be reading the next one.

    11. Jack Siglers teams startI have loved Jeremy's writing style and his weaving of words to develop new worlds is second to none. Now I know the beginnings of the cheesecake. Good read.

    12. What a thrill!I've read all of the Chess Team novels and have loved every one. If you're looking for a world of adventure with some serious sci-fi twists, it's a great series to dive into.

    13. AWESOMEA must read. Couldn't stop once I started reading. Great story, loved the characters, and plenty of action. I'm definitely addicted to the series and the authors.

    14. I started this series without any expectations. I had just finished the series The Event Group Thrillers by David L. Golemon and was pleasantly surprised by the genre so I quickly looked up similar style books. After starting a few series by popular writers, I found that I was not drawn into the world or characters of the super duper elite fighting teams of detailed Special Forces. I knew that there had to be something that I could emurge myself into while carpooling to work on my van-pool. I so [...]

    15. ABR's full Prime (A Jack Sigler Thriller Book 0.5) audiobook review and many others can be found at Audiobook Reviewer. This is definitely my kind of book. It has everything that makes a really good thriller/adventure/military read. I loved the added mythology angle that was backed up by real sites. The science angle was believable and a the human experimentation added to the spine tingling parts. The action starts with the first page and you hardly have time to breath between pages. Robinson take [...]

    16. America's most elite soldiers are about to uncover one of history's deadliest secretsWhen a raid on an insurgent safehouse leads to a clue to decoding one of the world's greatest mysteries--the Voynich manuscript--which may contain a recipe for creating the ultimate biological weapon of mass destruction, Delta operator Jack Sigler must forge a new black ops team to avert catastrophe. 17. In the beginning……This the story of the formation of the Chess Team. This prequel shows where each member of the team came from and how the team members first meet each other. In this story, a Delta team finds a portion of an ancient manuscript code when they raid a terrorist safe house. This code from the Voynich Manuscript, is a code that has never been broken. The fear is that the terrorists can break the code and will use the manuscript to create a biological weapon. A race is on to stop [...]

    18. While I thoroughly enjoyed the first two Jack Sigler series novels, "Pulse" and "Instinct" I did not like "Prime". Understand, I typically read Jeremy Robinson's novels for the thrill and adventure. And, I've always enjoyed the mystery of the unknown, not knowing what's going to happen next. Although this story seemingly started out that way (mystery of the manuscript, black plague, historical setting, etc.), it took a quick turn for the worse. I felt like all I was reading was a novel about mil [...]

    19. Well what a Rock and Roll ride this is.Jeremy up to his usual big ideas and I loved it.For me the only slight niggle and I am talking miniscule here - is that when the Guys get their new handles I was getting a wee bit mixed up on who was who - King and Queen were fine but the rest - I had to keep on going back to see who was whoThese men are the energizer bunnies and I love the way that real life is mixed in with big weapons etc.Although this is no 5 it is actually the prequel to all the other [...]

    20. i buy a lot of 99 cent and $1.99 ebooks and most have been very good. this one, however, was worth just about what i paid for it. Jeremy Robinson is very good at action novel writing, and true to form, the action in Prime is very good. the part where the book really struggled was in the technology and science. there was little effort to even try to make the core technical challenge seem feasible. i have to admit that i ended up liking the characters -- even the standard issue ones like the super [...]

    21. Great story. I'm coming in blind this being the first book of the series I'm reading, and it has definitely peaked my interest. The characters are unique but learning to use their individual strengths together so well. The stakes were high and yet built up there naturally, no sudden jump to "end of the world"; started with recon, moved to end of the world. There is a knowledge that only five characters will become main, but personally not knowing made it interesting as you slowly learned the bac [...]

    22. I stumbled across this book through ' recommendation, because I've read Matthew Reilly. And it was impossible to resist the call of the Voynich Manuscript - I'm not a nut for it or anything, but I read about it in another book and I was curious how it would be used in this story. And oh my. That was crazy! In a good way. Really well done. Sent some shivers, even. And though the book turned out to be more "military" than I expected (compared to Reilly's Jack West Jr. trilogy, anyway), it was a gre [...]

    23. Jack Siglar, call sign King, is the leader of the Chess Team, the "Delta of Delta teams" that is tasked with confronting threats too weird and dangerous for even the best of normal soldiers to handle. After a number of over-the-top adventures (books) we have this new prequel which details how the team originally came together. It's actually a little subdued since the threat here must necessarily be less spectacular, leaving room for all the ramping up of "future" books. Still lots of good action [...]

    24. Prime gives us an insight into how the Chess Team began. Prime is a roller coaster ride from beginning to end. Prime has it all: ancient mysteries, villans, monsters that were once monsters.Prime also show the complexity of bring people together for a major mission who have never worked together. Jack,King, has a team with code names of Queen, Bishop, Rook and Knight. This group bond on the run and become an exclusive on call group to deal with the deadliest situations.Looking forward to reading [...]

    25. Normally, I am not a big believer in prequels that come after the series has started. This book series is five novels in when this prequel comes out, with that said, I should not have been worried, this is Jeremy robinson and he delivers once again. This series is wonderfully amazing, action packed, with characters you want to know more about. And that is the key to the brilliance. Jeremy Robinson fleshes out his characters, giving you more and more each novel. They are not your traditional cook [...]

    26. Exciting and riveting.Jeremy Robinson never ceases to amaze me. The Chess Team novels have quickly become one of my all time favorite series. Be sure to set aside plenty of time when you start Prime, because you will NOT want to put it down. Glorious action set pieces, with an ingeniously developed story makes Prime a must read book.Highly and enthusiastically recommended. Long live Jack Sigler.

    27. Another excellent book from Jeremy Robinson, continuing the adventures of The Chess Team. The team dynamic has been well developed in all the previous books, so going back to the beginning did worry me. I should not have, this was a great read and it was good to see how the team began. I highly recommend this book and can not wait for the next installment, Omega.

    28. Fast paced thriller! This book was a thrill a minute. From the insertion to the extraction of a special-ops team, to the bloody battles, the baffling "human" and animal enemies, to the mind-bending scientific probabilities, this book was great fun. Really enjoyed the characters and look forward to following their continued missions.
