    2. well, i was expecting this to be a more devotional read a la "on the invocation" so i was a little thrown by the chapter "the jesus prayer in sianite hesychasm" being followed by "the jesus prayer in athonite hesychasm" i guess if you're looking for the grounds or history of the prayer, it's all here. but the enjoyable parts for me were the small bio at the beginning, wherein it was said that fr. lev's guiding principle for pastoral care was "love without limits" and the last chapter about the p [...]

    3. Out of any religious books I read, my favorite are always with prayer. St. Basil says ,"think about God more often than you breathe."This is a very good book on a form of prayer that the is old as Christianity. Here Gillet offers the idea of simply uttering the name, Jesus and what that entails for life. I really love the simplicity and straightforwardness of it.Some things we simply cannot grasp of reading and study. They must be done.
