    3. I *love* that Markus went to all the trouble to uncover these marvelous stories about Charlotte Cushman and her same-sex love life. But. But, the writing was clunky, awkward and confusing. This book is truly only for those hungry for lesbian history. Lillian Faderman is a much easier read.
